A selfless Christmas

How an enlarged sense of love for others overcame stress & self-pity at Christmas

Christmas can be a challenging time. But when this young woman found out she had to work all night on Christmas Eve she felt as though she was being robbed of all the goodness she associated with Christmas. Read how, as she prayed to understand more about the true sense of Christmas, she realised she could express the selfless love of Christ wherever she was.

"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."
Luke 2:14
"Love, redolent with unselfishness, bathes all in beauty and light."
Mary Baker Eddy
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p.516
"I love to observe Christmas in quietude, humility, benevolence, charity, letting good will towards man, eloquent silence, prayer, and praise express my conception of Truth’s appearing."
Mary Baker Eddy

Why gratitude packs a surprising punch

Why is gratitude so powerful? When asked to think of things he was grateful for, this writer thought the request pretty lame in the face of sickness. But when he thoughtfully became grateful for just a few things something remarkable happened. The sickness melted away, and the feelings of darkness and depression vanished. Read his article….
"Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all."
I Chronicles 29:12
"Are we really grateful for the good already received? Then we shall avail ourselves of the blessings we have, and thus be fitted to receive more. Gratitude is much more than a verbal expression of thanks. Action expresses more gratitude than speech."
Mary Baker Eddy

God taught me how to love my mum

He’d had no contact with his Mum for several years. Unresolved relationship issues, the burden of past domestic chaos and self-pity lingered. But all these dissolved when this man’s prayer “Dear God, teach me to love” was answered in the most practical and life changing way. Read his article ….

"Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God ... God is love."
I John 4:6-8
"Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need."

Facing change? Let spiritual ideals lead you.

Even though change may appear confronting, fear of change can be overcome. Read how this writer realised that she could expect only good even in the midst of a devastating divorce when she glimpsed that she is inseparable from God’s unchangeable perfection and that we all are, in fact, the spiritual expression of God.
"For I am the Lord, I change not; ..."
Malachi 3:6
"Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts."
