Out of the woods

“I was not alone, but under God’s protection”

When this mountain biker became lost and night began to fall, he realised he was unprepared for a night alone in the woods. Cold and wet and carrying his bicycle, he began to pray. This kept his thought focused on God, good. As he acknowledged God’s presence he was led to safety.
"And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:"
Exodus 13:21
God. The great I am; the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting, all-wise, all-loving, and eternal; Principle; Mind; Soul; Spirit; Life; Truth; Love; all substance; intelligence.

Prayer that is dependable

What is prayer? Can it truly lead to help and healing? Late one night when this woman felt sick and weighed down by a family disagreement she prayed with an inspired sense of ‘Our Father’ – her Father-Mother God. She fell asleep and awoke well and the family problem dissolved that very day.
Read/listen to how she prayed …
"For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."
The Lord's Prayer - Christ Jesus
Matthew 6:13
"Prayer can neither change God, nor bring His designs into mortal modes; but it can and does change our modes and our false sense of Life, Love, and Truth, uplifting us to Him." "

Disarming an enemy

"Courage, strength, selflessness, love, and spiritual understanding are each a powerful Christian response to any enemy."

Even when faced with hateful words or acts, we can pray that divine Love will guide us in how best to respond. After inviting a distant relative to stay in her house, this writer discovered a deep-seated resentment in her houseguest and even a plot to exact revenge on her family. Read how her prayers helped her to love this individual, and how her kindness and the divine Love that impelled her acts removed the threat to her family.

"Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;"
Christ Jesus
Matthew 5:43, 44
"Human affection is not poured forth vainly, even though it meet no return. Love enriches the nature, enlarging, purifying, and elevating it."
Mary Baker Eddy
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p.57
"Good thoughts are an impervious armor; clad therewith you are completely shielded from the attacks of error of every sort."
Mary Baker Eddy
